I'm a first time home buyer - what type of insurance do i need?
You'll need a homeowners policy also known as an HO3. To get a quote all well need is your full name, or the name the home will be titled in, and the property address - its that simple and well do the rest to run your rates then provide a quote with a detailed explanation of your coverage's which we can then tailor to you and your needs.
I'm starting a business - what type of insurance do i need?
That depends on the type of business you are starting but typically you'll need General Liability to cover any any lawsuits and Commercial Property coverage to insure your location against fire, theft, vandalism, etc. Even if you don't own the building you are responsible for the interior walls, flooring, build out of kitchen - plus more - if there is a fire or other loss & you need to rebuild. You can also insure just contents such as tables, desks, supplies & inventory.
what is the minimum required insurance for an auto in florida
Florida is a no fault state which means regardless of who's at fault in an accident we all go to our own policies for the first $10k in medical bills therefore you must carry Personal Injury Protection (PIP). You must also carry property damage coverage at a minimum limit of $10k to cover any damage you cause to a vehicle, home, guard rail, etc,
It is not mandatory to carry bodily injury coverage however, if you are in an at fault accident, and a person in the other vehicle is injured, if you don't carry bodily injury they can impound your car, make you put up a $10k bond, and possibly suspend your license. It's much easier to just carry bodily injury - we don't sell a policy without it.

what is a deductible?
A deductible is your portion of the loss. For example; you have a homeowners policy with a $1000 deductible and you have a fire that caused $10k in damage. You do not have to pay that $1000 deductible but rather the company will take the loss of $10k minus your deductible of $1000 and your payout would be $9000. In that same scenario if you had a $500 loss with a $1000 deductible you would be responsible for the entire loss as the loss is not higher then your deductible.
do i have to buy workers comp if i'm the owner and the only employee?
No, Florida requires workers comp once you have 3 or more employees except in the CONSTRUCTION industry. You may still want to get work comp as if you have an injury and you are unable to work then your income stops. With work comp you can receive your wages (a portion) plus medical coverage, and more.
